Silly me said how will you recognise me he said are you not wearing you're kilt I said yes and he said well I don't think there will be too many kilts about (it was the jet lag or so I am saying). Got my kit out and set my alarm yeah you know what time for 3 am and went to bed.
For the first time in my life I slept before a marathon only for about 4 hrs but that was enough. Woke up had breakfast done my stretches called home and told Clare I would call her later once I was finished. Went outside and caught the train which took us over the bridge.
The start of the race was from below the bridge a lovely start, bridge above you and opera house just across the water.
Everyone I spoke to before the race seemed to have some in their family from Scotland they were all telling me about their tartans they knew their stuff about ours sacred cloth. |
